Communicating Public Health Emergency Messaging to Diverse Populations: the California and Los Angeles County Experience

Resources Document

This webinar has been rescheduled to August 16, 2023 at 2:00 Eastern Time. Thank you for your patience and we look forward to your participation.

Overview

Low-income communities, communities of color, and members of LGBTQIA+ communities are some of the groups that often face greater risks during emergencies. Barriers to accessing resources and information are part of the problem. Communication efforts that take barriers into consideration, and are culturally responsive, are key parts of the solution.

Please join CDC’s EPIC team on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, from 2:00-3:00 ET to hear how the California and Los Angeles County Departments of Public Health used effective communication practices to overcome barriers and provide fair access to information.
